Kärkkäinen Web Oy has implemented Abakus solution supplied by Optiscan for improvement of web shop order picking and dispatching from the Kärkkäinen stores.
Rapid increase of orders at the Kärkkäinen web shop and a need for developing operations at existing premises were the main reasons for implementing the Abakus solution. Kärkkäinen web shop grows yearly by around 100 %, and in high season there can be over 5000 order lines per day. Increasing competition puts pressure on systems that need to be up-to-date.
It was essential to ensure smooth logistics
processes when combining the increasing web shop orders to store picking in a
multi-store environment. Optiscan has delivered Kärkkäinen a tailored Abakus solution
enabling the company to achieve the growth targets of the future.
The Abakus system has improved product picking, sorting and packing at Kärkkäinen. The easily adoptable system enables a flexible increase of resources by seasons allowing unified procedures at all locations. Bar code scanning used in different process stages ensures error-free operation, which increases customer satisfaction.
